Lily "trying" to Walk
This is the first day Lily started walking unassisted for more than 3-4 steps. She was so proud of herself and would giggle and wave her little fists once she got going. Unfortunately, she couldn't keep her balance when she giggled so hard. This is her giggling and falling, giggling and falling... but she never gave up. I wish my camera had sound, it would have made this clip much cuter. :) Also, David had just put Laisa to bed and Lily was trying to go see her.

Lily's Such a Monkey!

Here is a great story for you. I've been meaning to put it in our blog for a few weeks now.
It was the Friday morning before Labor Day. We were all getting ready to head out of town. I heard Lily awake in her bed but wanted to take a shower before getting her up. David was outside getting things in the car. Just as I was getting into the shower I heard a big THUD! come from Lily's room. She tends to throw her cup out of her bed every morning, so I thought "man, she must have thrown her cup really hard" then not hearing anything else from her room, I got into the shower. The next thing I hear is Laisa yelling "LILY GOT OUT OF HER BED!" Ok moms, just imagine the thoughts that where going through my head at this point. 2 minutes earlier, I hear a big THUD BUT didn't hear any crying. I thought for sure she was lying on the floor with a broken neck or something. I jumped out of the shower, dripping wet with shampoo in my hair. I opened the bathroom door to see David and Laisa starring into Lily's room. But I didn't see Lily in her room, a bit confused I look down the hallway to see her crawling away just as happy as can be. David looked at me like I was crazy and asked what I was doing...hahaha! He didn't realize that she tried climbing out of bed on her own and then fell. Who hits the floor that hard and doesn't cry? And YES, I did say crawling! My 14 month old refuses to walk but she can climb out of her bed. Thankfully she was fine and has not tried to climb out of bed again. :) On a positive note, she has started walking on her own the last 2 two days. I will post a short video for you soon.
